Young Kinna’keetan, Oota Dabun, has managed to bond with a carnivore. Desperate to prove herself an equal to her tribe, she wishes to participate in the Jocuri -- an international contest of strength, skills, and control over one’s animal companion. But before she can make it to the Jocuri, she must compete against her very own tribe members and win in order to be nominated.
