Lily isn't exactly human, she is a programmed artificial human. Erin isn't exactly human, she is a chimera. Both live in a scientific commune called the Tower, where thoughts and scientific endeavor run wild. This has a habit of causing radicals, one who went as for as to start replacing the undesirables of society with robots.
