16 year old Charlie Smith is a vivid dreamer. She lives a plain life - sleeping at her desk, getting a lot of C's on her report cards, and getting calls home for both of those other things. Her routine seemed to be endlessly repeating, until a trip to her school's office leads her down an unfamiliar path.
