ORV is very well written. I only just finished the fifth scenario but I really feel like the author has done well with pacing and cliffhangers. There are always new twists and turns even though the main character is already supposed to know what will happen. I also really appreciate the world building and characters that they have introduced. Characters are complicated with a mix of good and evil and the relationships with other characters make a lot of sense. Often times, I feel like relationships can be one note, but I feel like the author here has thought about it and made the interactions realistic. Thank you to the reviewer before me, I wouldn't have found this so fast without you. It's been a great read and I'm looking forward to more.
This is pretty far outside what I normally read but the art pulled me in immediately. The premise hooked me because it takes greek mythology and drops it into a modern city with office jobs, tabloids, and messy parties. The tension between Persephone being sworn into TGOEM and Hades is pretty great. Honestly though, my favorite part is Hades' dogs. There's a whole pack of them and every single scene they show up in is great. The art is the best part by far. The colors do so much of the work, with Persephone in all that pink against Hades' dark blues and purples, and a lot of the panels look more like paintings than normal webtoon art. My issue is the pacing. A lot of episodes are just characters talking in a room, and I catch myself skimming the smaller conversations to get to the parts that actually move things forward. It also gets way darker than I expected, especially everything with Apollo, so it's definitely not the light romance the first few episodes make it look like.
The premise hooked me because it flips the usual dungeon story on its head. Instead of an overpowered hunter smashing through bosses, the MC gets stranded in a hidden part of the tower and survives by farming and selling crops. I really enjoy the game-like system side of it, since the quests and rewards make it feel like a cozy farming sim more than a rpg. It's a fun change of pace and I love how low-stakes and chill it is compared to most tower-climbing stories. I absolutely adore the cast of animals and how the MC creates both a working relationship and friendship with them. Honestly, the animals and how they all work together are my favorite part of the story. The art is clean and cute, and it really carries the lighter, funnier moments. The story so far is pretty relaxed and slice-of-life, mostly built around farming, haggling, and the little quests, so it's not something I skim through the way I do with the boss-fight series. I'm only on episode 25, but so far it's a really comfy, feel-good read and the world is slowly opening up in a way that keeps me curious. Looking forward to seeing where it goes from here!
The story hooked me right away with the MC refusing to give up and fighting all the floor bosses. And then there was a big twist when he gets to the 100th floor which really sets up the mystery of the series. The whole setup is really interesting and I love how the world and power system unfolds. Some of the side characters aren't super memorable and important. Especially since the main character is so much stronger than them. I usually skim until I see the MC fight the next big boss. The fights look great and the art really carries the bigger moments. I'm really enjoying the series so far and looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here!
