VibeCheckAug 07, 2026Now that's what I call high fantasy! This was a blast to read through and through. The strongest aspect to me was definitely the character writing. There were a L O T of memorable characters in the webcomic that have interesting and fun dynamics between each other. Veloce is a strong lead and it's satisfying to see her open up over the course of the story. Keritzel, Sero, and Meron are sweethearts, Kris and Sangyun are funny, and the Fairy of Medrisen is an unforgettable tragic villain. By far my favorite is absolutely Blackbird. Each interaction with Veloce is peak, and it's really enthralling to learn more and more about her aims and history as the series progresses. Her rivalry with Veloce is like, pure toxic yuri vibes, so much so that there's a modern slice of life AU webcomic where they're actually a couple there—Which I DEFINITELY plan on reading someday. The art is lovely too, especially the covers and rare colored pages. I will say, I do have some criticisms regarding the action scenes. It's totally black and white, and a lot of the magic used in combat is too vague-looking to make out what's going on a lot of the time. Still, this was a memorable read I def recommend
