Akuma Sake is an anthropomorphic webcomic about a sword for hire named Akuma Sake. He is well known amongst his trade as the Drunken Demon because of his ability to blow fire after consuming alcohol among other bizarre things. The life of a sword for hire can be hazardous when dealing with corrupt officials, rival swords for hire, bandits with grudges, gangs and crazy ninjas. VibeCheckAug 06, 2026I'd already read the author's other webcomic Badham, so I knew what I was getting into. I've read series before that are a single panel per page, and there are many I've enjoyed in the past. I'm not a fan of the execution here since some panels are too similar to the ones preceding them. It makes for a repetitive experience. It doesn't help that the website containing the most pages is partially broken. I also found Akuma Sake pretty boring story-wise. The protagonist being a swordsman that incorporates drinking into his fighting style is the most notable aspect about the webcomic, but Akuma's personality isn't that interesting.
