ROYAL: The Prince of Magic

Junior Royal is a magi (a magic human) who has just entered North Academy for the Supernatural and Technologically gifted, a university meant to work with supernaturals and geniuses. Just as the campus year starts, Junior is targeted for his magical powers and is plunged down into the syndicated underbelly that the academy is covering up. Junior's only question is if he isn't the only one who can control magic, what makes him so special?

VibeCheckAug 10, 2026Wasn't a fan of this one. Couldn't keep up with the pacing of the beginning so I found it hard to follow the plot. A lot of characters bicker throughout the series, so I found many annoying. There's also many aspects of the webcomic that are inconsistent presentation-wise. I generally don't comment on webcomics that switch between color and black and white, but the series switches between both numerous times for extended periods each. It seems to stick to black and white now that only uses color for effects. The grammar isn't always the best from time to time too. I was also bothered by the "weebtune" censor bar to cover curses because the artist reused the same image for it and occasionally resized it on big words. That made it look pixelated and really stuck out for the worse. It did switch to replacing swears with special characters, then uncensored them, then back to that. The first scene with the succubus sex ed teacher also made me pretty uncomfortable.
