Romy, a socially anxious retriever, is the newest resident to move to Slumber: A seemingly quiet ghost town. Seemingly. Because this unsuspecting town ALSO happens to exist as a collective dreamscape of 32 trapped villagers! Most of the residents, including Romy, can't quite remember why they moved to Slumber... or how. Some memories get repressed, while others resurface. Life in Slumber isn't entirely normal - but then again, neither are its residents. As Romy, with their social anxiety, struggles to fit into this strange community... they are also faced with many mysteries and challenges. Waking nightmares, a telepathic cellphone, and an antagonistic psychologist, just to name a few. All the while, they set out to try to help the residents with their personal problems, hoping to make their lives in Slumber - and with each other - a little easier. Will Romy and the other 31 residents discover how to leave Slumber and get back home? Or will they find community with each other, regardless of the circumstances? VibeCheckAug 11, 2026WOW, this one is something else. I can't think of many other webcomics I've read that are as whimsical as this. It has this heartwarming found family energy made all the more tangible thanks to the characters' natural dialog and how well they play off each other. I love the shenanigans the terrific trio get into how they help me learn more about each one. While the characters are all really fun—Boone and Romy especially—I really started to connect with them once the comic started delving into themes of anxiety I found not only heavily relatable, but exceptionally well executed. The character proportions can look a bit off sometimes, but the comic makes up for it with some amazing paneling, really good expressions, and of course the dream sequences. The comic is at its peak during its weird moments. They make for some of the funniest, magical, and most emotional experiences in the comic. And then there's the overarching mystery, which I'm super engrossed with. Much like Broodhollow, it really helps the entire town of Slumbertown feel like its own character and give each character a lot more depth. Overall, absolutely stellar webcomic!!! Really looking forward to more
