Laura "Leadfoot" is a young woman on a mission. Famous Celestials - including Jupiter and Mars - have vanished from the Sol System, and she feels it's her duty to learn what happened to them. On an unfamiliar planet and being hunted by two of the most powerful individuals on it - one a Black Hole, the other the King of the Criminal Underworld - Leadfoot seeks sanctuary with a strange group of people who work for a Witch. VibeCheckAug 06, 2026This one is so fucking cool. The strongest aspect here is absolutely the characters, and there are quite a lot to keep track of. Leadfoot is a really great flawed protagonist with such an interesting backstory, Alias is a lovable goof and one of my favorite characters I discovered in 2024, and don't get me started on the villains. They have such ingenious concepts like a black hole in a physical form, a lovable jackass treasure hunter haunted by his ancestors, and the fucking demon mafia. This explores a lot of really cool concepts—which does get a bit much at points with all the explaining—but the ideas presented like celestial info is investing enough for me to never be bored by it. I will say that I am kinda disappointed by the action. The characters have some pretty cool powers but more time is spent explaining how they work instead of seeing them be used in fights. The battle against Ire was especially disappointing since he didn't come across as godly. Regardless, this one rocks and I highly recommend it! Can't wait for updates to resume.
