So far there's one optional chapter that's done in prose, but I highly recommend reading it if you choose to read Slumbertown. It provides a lot more insight to some of the main cast, introduces a lot of memorable side characters, and the magic and whimsy aren't lost during the dream sequences. Between the prose chapter here and Paranatural's new prose format, I'd say Slumbertown executes it a lot better here. The word count is a lot more digestible and the text is better integrated with the art, enhancing the emotional beats.
