Hyemin Lee is your typical high school student, complete with a pet cat and an annoying older brother. But when the shapeshifting villainess Nero unleashes a cat the size of an apartment building to terrorize Hyemin’s hometown, Hyemin comes into possession of a magical watch and finds her true calling: she must join the fight against feline foes and become a Meow Ranger.

VibeCheckAug 08, 2026For a toku series with a really silly concept, it feels tonally confused. It’s labeled as a comedy, but I feel like the comedy quickly fizzled out in the first few episodes. Don’t get me wrong, I got a lot of enjoyment out of the fights and the main villain Nero definitely makes it worth a read, but the tone really felt all over the place and the ending was incredibly rushed.
